I acted for Peel Developments in connection with the final acquisition of the Trafford Centre site and the organisation of development funding.

I coordinated the provision of retail management information in connection with the disposal of the Church Commissioners’ interest in Metro Centre.

I act for Hammermatch Group in connection with its desire to refurbish its shopping centre in Hitchin.

I set up a scheme for the creation of investment interest on behalf of Everest, involving off balance sheet acquisition of new warehousing and showrooms (including new build), the turning of contracts following PC to investors, and the leaseback of the unit by Everest.

I have acted for a number of Cambridge Colleges on investment purchases, including forward funding (Christs). I have also acted for a number of pension funds and unit trusts, including Pearson Group and HPUT, on investment sales and purchases.

I currently act for two significant private investment groupings.

Leyton Orient Football Club.

I acted for the developer, Samuel Beadie Group, which financed the construction of the Club’s new West, North and South Stands by way of an office development (west) and new residential property (north and south). There were several complex S106 agreements to deal with and I also structured a standalone leasehold structure to enable the letting funding and eventual redevelopment of the west stand. The north and south stands were a straightforward disposal to a house builder with overage.

New Printing Complex

In Waltham Cross, I acted for a consortium of landowners who sold NewsCorp the site for its new printing presses for a consideration in excess of £20m. The deal was complicated by excessive planning obligations and News Corp’s need for secrecy.

Lovell Developments

I acted for Lovell Developments over its participation in Sovereign Harbour Dorset, a marine based development which raised unusual and complex construction and coordination challenges.

London Docklands Development Corporation

London Docklands Development Corporation appointed me to deal with large scale residential developments in the Royal and Albert Docks. I also dealt with the land transfer arrangements when the LDDC was wound up, including the leasing of the Dockland Light Railway to the operator.

New Town Developments

I am currently acting for landowners in Horsham, Hertford and Cambridge negotiating their participation in large scale new town developments (10-20,000 units) and I act for the promoter—a subsidiary of Bentalls Stores—of a new settlement in Essex.
